Affiliate disclosure
How we make money
Alimentotherapy is free to read and carries no advertising. It is paid for by affiliate commissions: when you buy from some of the companies we mention, using our link, the company pays us. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and that does not change what we recommend. This page explains the arrangement in full, as the FTC’s Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) require.

How affiliate links work
A link to a partner goes through an address on this site that starts with /go/, which forwards you to the company. The company or its affiliate network may then set a cookie so it can tell that you came from us. If you buy within the period that company allows, it pays us a commission. You pay the same price you would pay without our link.
On a page that contains affiliate links, a disclosure at the top, above the first link, names the companies. Boxed recommendations carry an “Affiliate link” label, and every affiliate link is marked rel="sponsored" in the page code, so search engines are told the same thing you are. Our own /go/ redirect records nothing about you.
Companies that pay us
These are the affiliate relationships active today:
- Cronometer: A food diary app that tracks vitamins, minerals and fiber as well as calories, using lab-analysed food databases.
- Kombucha Kamp: A kombucha brewing supplier selling SCOBY starter cultures, brewing vessels and kits. Linked only from: /practices/fermentation, /remedies/fermented-foods.
- USA Magnesium: A single-product supplement company selling magnesium glycinate. Linked only from: /goals/sleep.
- Mito Health: A consumer blood-testing service that orders lab panels and reports the results with a clinician review. Linked only from: /goals/inflammation, /goals/heart-health, /goals/blood-sugar.
- Promeed: Mulberry silk bedding, cooling comforters and silk eye masks. Linked only from: /goals/sleep.
- iHerb: An online retailer of dried herbs, teas, spices, pantry foods and supplements, shipping to most countries.
Most pages link to no company at all. Where a partner appears, it is because a reader following the page might reasonably want it: a food diary to check fiber intake, a kombucha culture for the fermentation page. We do not sell supplements of our own, and a grocery store is usually the cheapest source of any food on this site.
What money cannot buy here
- An evidence grade. Grades come from the published human research and nothing else. A company cannot pay to be included, graded higher or described more kindly, and no partner sells the remedy a page grades.
- Review before publication. No partner sees a page before it goes live or can ask for a change other than a factual correction.
- Your data. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. There are no advertising pixels. We use Google Analytics, with advertising features off and consent first in the EU, UK and Switzerland, to see which pages are read; see the privacy policy.
Prices and health claims
We do not print prices. We never repeat a company’s health claims: what a food or herb can do is described from published studies, graded, and cited, on the remedy pages. Companies we link to are responsible for their own product labels.
