Accessibility statement

Health information should be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or reduced motion. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Text and interface colors meet AA contrast ratios in both light and dark themes.
  • Every page has a skip link, a logical heading order and landmark regions.
  • All controls work with a keyboard and show a visible focus outline.
  • Form fields have labels, errors are announced, and the interactions search announces how many rows match.
  • Icons are decorative and hidden from assistive technology, or carry a text label when they mean something.
  • Evidence grades are shown as a word and a shape as well as a color, so they never rely on color alone. The illustrations are described in text.
  • The small animations in the illustrations (steam, a swaying herb bundle) stop for anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion.
  • Wide tables scroll inside their own box on small screens, so the page never scrolls sideways.
  • Pages print cleanly, without the navigation, so a remedy page can be taken to an appointment.

Known limits

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. Most people see nothing or a single checkbox, but if it ever blocks you, tell us another way (for example, ask someone to submit the form for you) and we will respond. Links to other websites lead to pages we do not control.

Report a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use, please tell us through the contact form. Say which page and what happened, and we will try to fix it or give you the information another way. We aim to reply within two business days.
